Waste Free Oceans interviewed by the national Dominican newspaper Listín Diario

Updated: Jul 4, 2022

Last Thursday, Waste Free Oceans has had the chance to be invited by the Dominican newspaper Listín Diario to speak about our educational projects in the Dominican Republic.

In fact, Listín Diario, through its educational program named Plan LEA, aims to stimulate reading and learning through newspapers. In this context, they developed the educational project Semana de la Geografía (Week of Geography), which intends to implement within school programs themes related to the protection of the environment under the form of a small book given to students.

This interview represented the opportunity for Waste Free Oceans to explain how we try, through our actions, to change the younger generation’s behavior and to show them the importance to protect their environment.

This exchange, to which also participated our partner Jorge Rizek, founder of the recycling plant Rizek Vidal Recycler’s, allowed us to also speak of a future collaboration between the three parties within the scope of the Semana de la Geografía to give input, as an environmental NGO, on themes related to, for instance, recycling or sorting.

We hope this exchange will lead to further collaboration between us in order to have a greater impact among young people on the dangers of littering and the importance to protect and cherish our natural resources.
