27 years ago the president of the international Waste Freen Oceans (WFO) foundation, Inge Demyttenaere, of Belgian nationality, chose the Dominican Republic as a destination, not only for its climate, but also for the natural beauty of the island. As time has passed, it has seen many progressive changes, but also how the Ozama and Isabela rivers have gradually deteriorated due to pollution.
