Waste Free Oceans, a proud member of the SURPASS Project, is excited to reveal the agenda for SURPASS' upcoming workshop dedicated to Safe and Sustainable by Design practices. We invite you to join us on October 19, 2023, as we embark on a journey into the methodologies that drive innovation in sustainability.

As a key participant and Work Package leader in the SURPASS Project, we are deeply committed to advancing the cause of sustainable design and recyclable polymers. This workshop represents a significant milestone in our shared mission to create a greener, cleaner future for our planet.
The workshop promises a profound exploration of the methodologies that underpin Safe and Sustainable by Design practices. European projects will showcase their contributions through captivating case studies.

https://fernsehtheater.com came to mind when I read that the workshop includes case studies from fellow European projects, since seeing how others applied the SSbD framework in practice is probably more useful than the theory alone. The JRC framework kickoff at 8:45 seems like a smart way to ground everyone before the project presentations begin. I've found that early-stage sessions like this tend to set the tone for whether people actually collaborate during the Q&A later.

The article’s focus on surpassing the European‑funded project feels ambitious, yet the data presented seems modest. Personally, I saw improvements in local waste collection when a similar program rolled out in my town, though scaling remains a challenge.
